Welcome to the website of Manningham Centre.
Manningham Centre is operated by a not-for-profit, community-based
incorporated Association (Manningham Centre Association – MCA) governed by a
Board of volunteers drawn from the Manningham Community. Its mission is “to
assist older people in the Manningham community to sustain and reinforce
their independence, social relationships, personal wellbeing and community
interaction”.
MCA commenced operating in 1985 in response to a growing need for aged care
services in the City of Manningham. The first services were a 30-place
nursing home and a Day Therapy Centre. Services now comprise Cassia House
and Doncaster Melaleuca Lodge aged care facilities (150 low and high care
places), Doncaster Rehabilitation Services, MCA Aged Care Packages (low and
high care), Grevillea House Planned Activity Group, Grevillea House National
Respite for Carers Programs (overnight cottage respite and employed carers
respite), Manningham Home Maintenance Service and Cassia House National
Respite for Carers Program Demonstration Project.
Services are focused on the City of Manningham and immediately adjoining
areas. A commitment to providing quality services and to continuous quality
improvement is evidenced by the maintenance of accreditation under the
international standard of ISO 9000:2001 with the residential care facilities
also being accredited by the Department of Health and Ageing via The Aged
Care Standards and Accreditation Agency.
A number of services are managed on behalf of Manningham City Council
under long-term Management Agreements.
The relationship with Council and associated Management Agreements have been thoroughly reviewed and renegotiated over the last year.
During 2011 MCA will become the Approved Provider for the two residential care facilities and Aged Care Packages and from 1st July 2011 was funded directly by the Department of Health to operate the two Home & Community Care-funded services (Planned Activity Group and Home Maintenance).

Manningham Centre is governed by a Board of Directors all of whom are volunteers. Up to 10 Directors are elected by Members of the Association with up to an additional 2 Directors nominated by Manningham City Council.
